Hi there! My name is Sally Katzin and I'm a portrait photographer based in Israel. I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and Currently i live in Modiin with my husband and my dog, Lucy.
Since I was young, photography has been an escape and a hobby for me. I started off photography with the fun artistic idea of adding fairy wings to almost every portrait I would take, trying to create a fairytale style and look. Slowly I started to realize that the fairytale, and beauty of a subject is in the person's emotion, and I started to use natural light, and natural beautiful settings to create that perfect photo. I continue to teach myself and learn how to capture the perfect photo.
I started doing family portraits & special events when I made Aliyah to Israel in 2015. I meet so many happy couples, and vibrant families that really make me love what I do. It's an honor for me to be able to give families, what in my opinion, is a gift that never goes out of style. Photos are forever, and knowing that 20 years after a photo session, you will open a photo album and the memories will give you such joy.
After a year of making Aliyah, I drafted as a lone soldier to the Israeli Army as a dog trainer. I was lucky enough to travel and live all around Israel, falling more and more in love with it. After the army I spent a few years in early education, tutoring English as a second language to young kids, and working in after school programs.
Eventually I decided to take a step forward into the artistic world, and went to school to learn Web & Graphic Design. From there, I went on to working in the Israeli tourism industry, creating marketing and tourism brochures for trips in Israel. Today I work as a freelance graphic design artist for multiple tourism companies and small businesses.
In 2022, I launched Sally Katzin Photography & Design. Capturing families and special events, and creating personalized event branding for special events. I love seeing the expression on my clients faces when everything for their simcha is just perfect. I love working with special event vendors, and seeing beautiful ideas come to life. And the best part, is I get to document all the beauty in it all.
